Great Day!

Had a really great time yesterday, after class (replacement lecture for English for Mass Comm) i went with some classmates to 1U to eat, lepak and just look around.
The first thing we did was hit the Genki Sushi bar, and ate tons of crap there. First time i racked up an RM24 bill for sushi alone lol. I have to say that the new system of providing the green tea in powdered-instant style is a bad move on their part; frankly it tastes like shite compared to pre-made green tea or those in a teabag. But the sushi was good anyway so its a minor thing.

After that, Hoi Yen went nuts after seeing all the free stuff and promotions being held there, and we (yes, including yours truly) signed up for 2 discount card things. Hey, 15% off for food is always a good thing. Walking around a mall cracking stupid jokes (especially on comments of other people's attire) is indeed fun. And i tell you ah bengs, ah lians and an assortment of fashion disasters haunt shopping malls. I still remember one lady who walked past who wore enough perfume to kill people should they be so unfortunate to step into a lift with her.

There was an interesting show that was put up by 8TV to promote 2 new upcoming shows: Joey and Desperate Housewives. Missed the Joey thing (then again i'm not a fan of Friends) cause i went to watch HichHikers Guide to The Galaxy (was not as bad as the critics claim, but not as good as the books either, final impression is so-so) with Grace but made it out in time to see the Desperate Housewives skit. It was basically a contest hosted by the 8TV quickie anchors, where some women from the audience came up to "act sexy" while doing some imaginary housework. Yeah it sounds dry here, but it was really amusing if you saw it in person, with the "moves" getting more and more exaggerated lol.

At the end of the day, went to eat ramen with Grace while waiting for her bf to finish work, and i realise there are always undercurrents which run in any social group, no matter how friendly the relationship seems on the surface as we talked about our other classmates, and with everyone there is a dissatisfaction with how some things are in life. As much as i want to, a public blog is not the place to discuss such sensitive issues so i've tried to keep it as vague as possible, but i trust you'd know what i mean.

Anyways, i'll be going to the Nokia Starlight Cinema to watch Batman Begins, so if any of you peeps going too, just gimmie a yell and maybe we can meet up there.

Speaking of handphones, one annoying thing that recently smacked itself into my consciousness is the increasing use of SMSes to send advertisements. Its pretty damn annoying, especially when you're in class or busy with something. Then you get an SMS trying to sell something to you, even if you're bloody broke already. I'll be less ready to give my handphone no. to companies now unless i'm sure they won't send crap to my hp and i suggest you do too.
