Exam results are all in, and I am finally free of the tension of uncertainty.
A relief-inducing PASS on each subject, at least it'll give a small amount of respite until the actual results are released, if nothing else.
I also feel I did reasonably well for my Taekwondo evaluation, and although I don't think it warrants a double promotion, I probably passed fine to advance to Blue One grade.
I've been keeping myself busy over the past few weeks over the holidays, got a new computer somewhere just before my exams but I haven't had the time to break it in and run stress tests yet. Its a near top-of-the-line system, specs are:
P4 2.8GHZ DC
1GB DDR2 RAM
200GB SATA HDD
GEFORCE 4 7900GT
Samsung 17' LCD
It runs most of the next-gen games like Oblivion (which has been occupying a large amount of my time) and Ghost Recon: Advanced Warfighter smoothly, but not with everything maxed. Antialiasing and grass took the biggest bite out of the framerates in Oblivion, so I strongly suggest leaving AA to 2X and Grass view to none by dragging the bar all the way to the left in the graphics options. Benchmarking shows it performs well within expected parameters, so i'm not complaining.
I digress. Anyway, I had a small but fun birthday celebration with Bernard, Yen Yen, Joe, and Woon at Pizza Uno last Saturday. I'd thought of inviting more people TBH, but as I evaluated my funds I figured it'd only be enough for treating 5-6 people max considering the cost of a meal at Uno was at an average of RM15, poor bastard that I am. Turns out it was for the best, anyway as the seats at Uno matched our little party.
After that, we headed down to Sunway Pyramid, a rather ill-advised course of action as it was Saturday afternoon. Expectedly, it took us a long time to get there due to the jam, and we were disappointed yet again as the archery range we were looking forward to engage in had either moved or closed down completely, in any event we could not find it. All was not lost, however, as we managed wrap up the day with a session of DoTA later that night. The only thing that irritated me was being held up from having dinner with my family because of bumping into a friend on the way there, which caused me to arrive late.
All it all it was a good day, got more SMSes than cards but then again I don't send cards often anymore, extortionably expensive things they are. Cheaper and more meaningful to send handmade cards anyway.
