Been picking up my guitar again lately, haven't touched it in almost two years.
I was inspired to practice again after a visit to a friend's house.
I had some time to kill as we were going to head out later.
A guitar with a blue-coloured soundboard was sitting on the roommate's bed.
I picked it up and played it.
It had a pretty deep resonant tone, which I've heard on often-played guitars, and reminded me that my guitar was sitting in its cover, and that I was neglecting it.
Course, now I remember why I stopped.
My fingers on my left hand hurt like hell.
The skin on the tips of my fingers flaked.
Then the skin hardens.
So it like when I dipped my fingers in candle wax when I was a kid.
Its a peculiar sensation, like having a dampened sense of feel on your fingers.
But the reward of being able to play cool songs is worth the pain.
